The Red Sea is an extraordinary sea that, because of the abundance of it's fauna and the beauty of its seabeds, has quite rightly been described by the Arabs as the "Garden of Allah". More recently, Captain Jacques Cousteau, who made his first scientific expedition there in the famous research ship Calypso in 1955, called it "the corridor of wonders".
